Dubai Islands (formerly known as Deira Islands) is one of Dubai’s most ambitious man-made island projects, developed by Nakheel, the same company behind Palm Jumeirah. It’s a large coastal redevelopment designed to create a vibrant mix of luxury residences, hotels, beaches, marinas, entertainment and leisure attractions just off the northern coast of Dubai.
Located off the coast of Deira in the northeastern part of Dubai.
The entire project spans about 17 square kilometres of reclaimed land.
It will add over 20 km of pristine beaches to Dubai’s shoreline.
Dubai Islands comprises five main islands, each envisioned with unique features and lifestyles:
Central Island – A watersports and entertainment hub with parks and activity zones.
Marina Island – Key waterfront destination with yachts and marinas.
Shore Island – Beachfront residential and leisure zones.
Golf Island – Includes golf courses with sea views.
Elite Island – Designed for exclusive properties and luxury living.
These islands will be connected to the mainland by bridges and water transport links, enabling easy access to Downtown Dubai and the airport.
Dubai Islands will be a mixed-use destination featuring:

Golf courses (18-hole and 9-hole courses).
Promenades, parks and open spaces for walking, cycling, and nature-based leisure.
Plans include 80+ luxury hotels and resorts to boost tourism.
Wellness, boutique and family-friendly hotel concepts.
More than 38,000 residential units, including apartments, townhouses and villas.
Retail, dining, and cultural hubs to create a self-contained community.
The project is part of Dubai’s broader 2040 urban master plan, focusing on sustainable and liveable city expansions.
It is attracting multiple off-plan real estate developments from local and international developers.
